Today I attended the performance at Teatr Lalek of Baron Munchhausen. Another splendid performance! The scenic design and pyrotechnical effects employed in this production gave the feel of attending a ball on New Year’s Eve. The ensemble work was excellent. After the show I went to the Café Lalek and joined Hanna Grewling and Krzysztof Grzeda of Teatr Baj Pomorski which is located in Torun, a city west of Warsaw. We left the café and walked the centrum of Bialystok stopping in at the Savona Pizzeria for a nice lunch accompanied by glasses of Zywiec golden colored beer. After lunch we returned to the Academy and I presented a lecture on Tennessee Williams and screened Kazan’s Streetcar Named Desire.
